Search for the best AI for BaZi reading and you will find chatbots, apps and prompt packs that all promise a personal reading in seconds. Rankings go stale quickly and are often written by the tools themselves, this site included. So instead of a list, here are six checks you can run on any tool in a few minutes, with test births whose correct answers you can verify.

1. It Shows You the Calculated Pillars

A reading you cannot check is a reading you cannot trust. A good tool shows the year, month, day and hour pillars before it interprets them, ideally with the day master and the corrected birth time. If it jumps straight to personality traits, ask for the pillars; if it will not show them, move on.

2. It Gets Solar-Term Boundaries Right

Use these two test births, both at 12:00 in a city on Beijing time, and compare the year and month pillars:

•1 February 1990: year 己巳, month 丁丑. A tool that answers 庚午 for the year used Chinese New Year instead of the Start of Spring.

•5 June 1990: year 庚午, month 辛巳. A tool that answers 壬午 for the month ignored the Grain in Ear solar term, which began on 6 June at 06:46.

3. It Asks Where You Were Born, and Handles an Uncertain Time

The hour pillar depends on the exact time and on true solar time, the clock time adjusted for longitude. A careful tool asks for the birthplace and has a clear option for "I don't know my birth time". When the time is uncertain, it tells you which conclusions depend on the hour pillar. It should also say how it treats births between 23:00 and midnight, where schools differ.

4. Luck Pillars Change With Gender

Enter 15 June 1990 at 10:30 twice, once as male and once as female. A correct tool shows opposite directions: forward from 癸未 (starting in 1997) for the male chart, backward from 辛巳 (starting in 1993) for the female chart. 5. You Know What Happens to Your Data

Birth date, time and place are personal data that identify you quite precisely. Before you type them in, find out:

•Where conversations are stored, and whether you can delete them.

•Whether your details are used to train models.

•What a shared link reveals. A share page should not expose your exact birth time or place.

6. It Tells You What Things Cost Before You Spend

Many BaZi tools are free to start and paid for depth. That is fair, as long as the tool says clearly before it charges: which report, whether you already have it, and how many credits it uses. Be wary of tools that generate a paid report as a side effect of a chat message.

What No AI Can Give You

Even a tool that passes every check is interpreting a tradition, not measuring your future. Use a reading to reflect on tendencies and timing, not to hand over decisions about health, money or relationships. The same is true of a human master.
